Online payment is the most quickest and efficient way of making any kind of payments today. It is easy too and eliminates the bother of buying stamps and making a trip to the post office.

Making Sears credit card payment is a simple procedure. As Sears sold its credit card business to Citigroup, the card payment is now collected by Citibank.

The first step is to register for online account operation with Citibank. While doing so you will be required to enter your Sears credit card account number, the three digit security code, your Social Security number and email address. Then click “Continue”.

There will be some more information that you need to fill in and as you finish with each section keep clicking on the ‘continue’ button. The information they ask this time would be your phone number, your billing address etc.
To set up the online account, enter your checking account number and also the bank routing number in the given spaces. Of course you will find this information on your check leaves.

The system will prompt for a user name and password and once you create that, click ‘finish’. This way your online account gets activated. To make an online payment, you simply visit the Citibank site and go to the section earmarked for Sears. Now enter your user name with the password to sign on.
Choose the payment option and when you do so, your balance and the minimum payment required to be paid will be shown. Enter the whole or the part of the payment that you wish to pay at the time. A menu showing your bank account will appear where you need to select the particular checking account. You can also enter a date when it is convenient for you to process the transaction.

The entire transaction summary appears next and you will need to verify if all the information that you have entered is without error before choosing the final “make a payment” option which in effect puts the transaction into operation. You will of course continue to receive your monthly statements in the mail although you have chosen to register online as well. You are permitted to make up to four online card payments in a month, and one payment in a business day. Sears card payment is just that easy!
